I won't be able to go...I'm going to a big OSU vs Michigan party on Saturday. The only way I could go see Bond is if you guys went and saw it later on in the evening up towards Cleveland.

I like plenty of movies. Need I remind you about LotR, Spy Game, and many others?
I agree with this reviewer: http://movie-reviews.colossus.net/movies/d/die_another.html
Although I could just come back with the stock witty reply of "You just have taste for shit".
But you're allowed to like the movie. Thanks for insulting me needlessly once again, good buddy.

And in my opinion, when you can remove any of the characters and still have the same outcome, it's a poorly made film.

As much as it pains me to do so, I have to agree with the review posted by Darken. This was by-far my least favorite Bond movie. This isn't to say I didn't enjoy it. The car scenes were great. Who can't deny it was awesome to see those two cars tearing around on the ice? The gadgets and women were cool too. However, in terms of plot, dialogue, and characters, this movie blew. I got tired by the 80% sexual innuendo script after 5 minutes of Bond and Jinx. Plus, this plot was just a more dumbed-down Goldeneye. Don't get me wrong, I love the Brosnan Bond movies. I love Goldeneye and The World Is Not Enough was sweet. The worst parts in this move, however, were the special effects. I could have sworn it was footage from the video game. (Surfing part in Iceland, you all that have seen it know what I'm talking about). All I can say is that it was a big disappointment.:disgust:

i was not disappointed.
the plot was weak - goldeneye and the man with the golden gun, pretty much.
the dialogue was painfully trite at times - especially when bond introduces himself to jinx.
and some of the special effects weren't special at all - the kite surfing scene was just terrible.
BUT THIS IS BOND.
a lot of the films actually have unbelievably crap plots...and yet it's still successful. why? because it's not plot driven. guns, girls, fast cars, and cool gadgets are what you get from a bond film. those and the obligatory one-liners.
this film was okay. it didn't have the engaging <s>breasts of denise richards</s> plot of TWINE but the action sequences were good.

I thought the action sequences were hard to follow at times because the shots were uninspired. They would go for a straight on shot where an angled or overhead would have been a better choice.

The Bond series is stale. There's nothing in the movie that makes me want to see it again. Fuck the women, conflict with your superiors, drive around, kill the bad guy, save the world.
Boring.

wrong.
some movies need red-herrings to distract you from what you thing is going to happen. They can make movies less predictable and thus better

I didn't say one or two removeable characters. In this film, you could remove JAMES BOND and still have an action film. It wouldn't be a Bond film, but the fact that he could be removed just goes to show how badly generic this script was.

I WILL BE A JAMES BOND FAN TILL THE DAY I DIE....
I thought this movie was better than TWINE. Brosnan can definetly do more Bonds after this one. He certainly hasn't reached Moore's age in View to a Kill (yikes).
Two comments on the posts about Bond 20 being stale/bad:
1) Bond movies have had this paradigm since Licence to Kill (BOND + 2 female leads). They're giving the audience what we expect to see from a Bond movie--guns, girls, and cars. If you want something totally new and creative, don't go to a Bond movie. It's not going to happen. However, the whole opening thing was a very new direction for a Bond saga (I won't give it away for those who have not seen it). It was also the first time the opening credits were used to tell part of the story you didn't see.
2) Being the 20th Bond movie, they paid homage to the legacy by reusing stunts, plots, and gadgets from at least 8 other Bond movies (that I figured out so far). However in doing so, it makes this one look a little more like all the rest.
Everybody is entitled to their own opinion, but I recommend seeing it.
As for Snitt's masturbation comment. Hey, if your a guy and don't get turned on by the Bond chics, it's time for the Viagra IV drip....or a membership card to the Blue Oyster Club.

There's something from every Bond movie or so the publicists say.
And I thought the movie started out exceptional and then took a dive for the boring ans rehashed action.

Yeah, but it's disgusting to see a guy's legs fluttering back and forth like a butterfly in the theater. Save it for your house.
