OK, i have windows XP, with dual WD Special Edition 120gig'rs
Im running low on disk space. Both 120gig HD's are partitioned in half, so i have 4 drives. Physical Disk 1 (C, D) Physical Disk 2 (G,H) with E and F being cd-roms.

I had Ripped a DVD onto my D drive awhile ago, so it was about 6 gig worth of data. Well i was running out of space so i decided to delete it. Problem is i deleted it and it didnt free up and space. But the stange thing is, that it is reporting that amount of more free space on drive G. Which is really fucked up becasue that isnt even ont eh same disk!! WTF??
Now i have no more free disk space than before, and now both drives are reporting the wrong amount of free disk space.

/me bangs head on keyboard.

I ran scan disk to see if it woudl fix the problem..didnt work. Any ideas?

I was going to ask you if you ran them as FAT32 and if so to run ScanDisk because the free space count might of been out but since you've already run ScanDisk I can assume thats not the problem. (even if its not are you running FAT32? If you are then don't, it's a disaster waiting to happen.)

Next item on the agenda then: Have you emptied the recycle bin since you delected to files? Until you empty the bin the file is still on your drive and still taking up space.

scandisk
defrag

that usually fixes it

but yeah, check your recycle bin just in case like lsd said.
